Then there were THREE...

As many of you know we welcomed our sweet baby on October 5th.  We didn't know what we were having so throughout the day the excitement grew for Chad and I as we were hours away from holding our baby.  We would think are we going to be holding our son or our daughter?  And making final decisions on name choices...which got decided when they were starting to set the room up for pushing to start. The day was very long as induction started at 5:30 am and little miss didn't arrive until 10pm.  I tell you what though it was worth every second, minute, and hour.  People try to prepare you for labor and I was a little nervous.  Somethings though I didn't know would feel so strange like breaking my water, contractions that didn't let me have a resting point, my legs feeling like jello, and being awake during a surgery.  I will spare you details on what that felt like. : )  Then of course how you feel the days after.

I was at 6cm then next thing we know I was at 9.5cm. Our sweet nurse, Martha, who was with us all day was getting ready for her shift to end and she was gonna stay until her son called to be picked up.  Unfortunately baby and mommy weren't quite ready before she had to leave but we were in good hands.  I ended up getting another dose for my epidural then everything was so numb I couldn't push yet.  I began pushing and pushed for an hour.  The baby was fine but facing the wrong way and c-section was the best option.  When Dr. Glover told us that I was like oh ok.  I tried to prepare myself the last weeks of pregnancy that anything was possible including a c-section.  I wasn't sure about having the c-section but we had given it a shot which I was thankful for.  So they began preparing me and gave scrubs to Chad.  I think he was more nervous than I was.  I will save you all the details of the c-section...but we had Dr. Glover hold the baby up for us to see what it was instead of just saying.  That's when we found out we had a precious little girl.  Although she wasn't so little...9 lbs 5 oz and 22 inches long.  I do remember everyone saying "look at that hair" "look at those cheeks"!  I quickly told Chad to go take pictures and be with the baby.  She was absolutely precious and we were in love.

Welcome to the world Cecilia Rae!!!  We love you so much.
